Principal's Welcome

It is with great pride and excitement that I introduce myself as Principal and welcome you to St Mary’s Secondary School, Charleville.

It is my pleasure to lead our school community forward as inclusive and student centered. Our dedicated staff pride ourselves in exemplary teaching practices to support all our students in reaching their potential. We strive for the highest academic standards and engage in continuous professional development on an ongoing basis.

Equally, we are committed to the wellbeing of each student. We work towards the holistic development of each student in a calm and safe environment.

We value the support of our students’ parents and our wider school community. We place tremendous emphasis on student voice in our respectful classroom environment. Student participation and contribution is the key to everything we do at St Mary’s.

A Google for Education School

St Mary’s Secondary School, Charleville, Co. Cork, Honoured for Digital Empowerment at Google Headquarters London! 

Charleville; Co. Cork is celebrating a significant achievement for St. Mary’s Secondary School, which was recently presented with a prestigious award for Digital Empowerment at the Google for Education Reference School celebration event. The ceremony, held at Google headquarters in London on June 20th, recognised the school’s innovative and inclusive use of Google tools to enhance learning and teaching.
 
The award was presented by Grace Kelly, Head of Digital Transformation, UK and Ireland for Google for Education, to Ms. Marion Tuohy, Leader of Learning and Teaching at St. Mary’s Secondary School. This recognition highlights St. Mary’s efforts in leveraging technology to create an exceptionally supportive and accessible learning environment for all its students.
 
St Mary’s has also been selected as brand ambassador for SMART, the new and innovative smart boards now in all St Mary’s classrooms. These have transformed our classrooms into digital spaces where students access their work and that of others to continue to learn. These are innovative tools as St Mary’s ensures all of our students are prepared for not only the world of exams but also the world around them.

All-Ireland Junior B Finalists

One word – Proud!

 

Hard luck to our Junior team and management in the All Ireland Final. We are immensely proud of this massive achievement, reaching an All Ireland final is not an easy task!
