Drama Production : “Folie Tha”, by St. Marys’ 2008/2009 Transition Year Drama Students.
On Saturday, 31 January, and Sunday, 1 February, we performed our drama, “Folie Tha” in Friars Gate Theatre, Kilmallock, to a full house both nights. The play was written by Ciaran Gray. The play revolves around a Dublin teenage dance group, who travel to France to take part in a dance competition, with a few hiccups along the way, but no real damage is done. Our play was directed by Sarah Moloney, and starred seventeen cast members. Some of the girls who didn’t have parts in the play fulfilled the difficult managerial positions involved in making the production run smoothly, from assistant director to sound, lighting, costumes, choreographer, props, stage management, public relations and make-up. Our production was met with rapturous applause both nights. We had a fantastic time both rehearsing and performing. We will be participating in a Transition Year drama festival on Thursday , 5 February, in the Windgap theatre in Macroom. We would like to thank everyone who supported us with this production over the last few weeks, as it was definitely worth it!
